A Coin Recovered By Famed Treasure Hunter Mel Fisher From The Santa Margarita

SHIPWRECK TREASURE! An 8 Reale coin recovered from the Spanish Galleon Santa Margarita which was grounded and broke up during a hurricane near the Florida Keys on September 6, 1622. More than 120 people along with tons of gold, silver and other cargo were lost. This Spanish “Cob”, as they are referred to were produced by slicing coin blanks from the end of a crudely cast bar of refined bullion, clipped to the correct weight and hammered between primitive dies. The coin is accompanied by the original Certificate of Authenticity with a photograph of the coin issued to Treasure Salvors, Inc.and is signed with a facsimile printed signature of well known treasure hunter Mel Fisher.
